| Roses are Red… |
| |
 |
If you want to add floral beauty and color to your wedding, try some of these suggestions for adding roses to your ceremony and reception.
Decorate the Church
Place two red roses in front of your unity candle to symbolize your passion and respect for one another. Hang mini arrangements of roses from the end of each pew. Place arrangements of red, yellow, or white bouquets at the altar. Cling tightly to a bridal bouquet stuffed with beautiful roses, then toss it away
Adorn Your Attendants
Send your attendants down the aisle with roses in lapels and nosegays. Hot glue tiny rosebuds to combs |

for your bridesmaid's hair. Make a little wreath of roses tied with ribbon trains for your flower girl. Give each bridesmaid a single rose to hold instead of a bouquet.
Flour Anyone?
Instead of fondant flowers made of sugary icing, ask your baker to decorate your cake with the Real Rose, and tuck away beautiful blooms between the layers.
A Rosy Cozy Reception
From a smattering of petals across tables and the dance floor, to tightly wrapped centerpieces in julep cups, give your reception an injection of tradition with the Regal Rose.
Artificial vs. Real Flowers
Many brides today are struggling over the great floral dilemma: Should she choose fresh or artificial flowers. The deciding factors are the cost, appearance, durability, and convenience. Most brides will notice a considerable cost savings when choosing silk. Keep in mind, some stems can still be very expensive, even in silk. Those that tend to be expensive are large, high-quality roses, calla lilies, and orchids. Choose roses, try cabbage roses or ranunculus instead. Many brides worry that the artificial flowers will look fake. This depends on the choice of flowers. Some flowers, such as calla lilies, are very difficult to replicate with a natural look. Even so, most fresh callas will run about $5.00 per stem, compared to $3.00 per stem for artificial callas. Other silk flowers, such as roses, can appear every bit as realistic as fresh flowers. A good, realistic, silk rose should run from $1.50-$6.00 per stem. A wonderful alternative to silk flowers are latex stems which will mimic the natural texture of the flower much better than silk. Latex flowers also hold their shape very well and can be arranged more precisely. Durability is something you will need to consider when choosing your flowers. Artificial flowers will not wilt, they will not discolor, and broken stems do not usually occur. One of the best things about silk flowers is the convenience they afford. They can be ordered long before the wedding and stored until the big day. This also leaves time for corrections, should your florist make a mistake.
